A group of experienced criminologists of the Investigative Committee sent to Tatarstan to assist in investigation

The Tatarstan Republic Investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over a crime under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 of the RF Criminal Code (rape of a girl under 14).

According to investigators, on 19 February 2013, at about 11 a.m. in Yelabuga two men found an 8-year-old naked girl with traces of sexual abuse, battery and frostbites in a ravine. The child was delivered to hospital.

The girl has been identified as one of six children in a family. She went to school on 19 February 2013, but did not got there.

At present the girl regained conciseness and can answer the investigators’ questions. In the near future she will be questioned on what happened.

Experienced criminologists of the Investigative Committee have been sent to provide practical assistance in investigation.

During the examination of the crime scene traces of dragging were found and biological samples were taken. students and teachers of the nearby school are being questioned, witnesses are being looked for, other investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime and a person involved. In addition, all the persons who have previous records for similar crimes are being checked. Medical forensic expert examination has been fixed. Investigation is to be continued.
