According to investigators, on 11 January 2013, Kabalov was drunk on board of A-300 of Kogalymavia traveling Moscow-Hurghada and deliberately tried to seize the plane to hijack it. He used physical violence and threatened to use violence dangerous for lives and health of the crew and passengers. The crew stopped his wrongdoings.

The Investigative Committee warns everybody who is going to try the same aboard aircraft, at airports or railway stations. By their inadequate and criminal actions the so called “air rowdies” pose real threat to health and security of the passengers and endanger lives of all those who are aboard the aircraft. For such actions the RF Criminal Code provides for a punishment of up to 12 years in prison.
