Chairman of Investigative Committee holds personal reception of citizens in Tatarstan

The Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin held personal reception of citizens on 15 May 2013 in Kazan. 65 citizens from Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan came to the reception. During the reception which took from 2:30 PM to 11 PM Mr. Bastrykin personally received 42 citizens, officials of the Central Office - 23.

The most of complaints addressed to Mr. Bastrykin during the personal reception concerned illegal actions of the police, procedural decisions made over criminal cases in proceedings at the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee. Citizens also complained about decisions of other law enforcement agencies and courts. Some of the citizens complained about refusals to initiate criminal cases.

However, citizens of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed their gratitude to a number of employees of regional investigating directorate of the Investigative Committee.

Based on the results of the personal reception Mr. Bastrykin gave explicit orders to heads of a number of territorial investigating bodies. Progress of reviewing all accepted complaints and application is under personal control of the Chairman.
