Chairman of district court in Kirov Region caught on bribery

On 3 June 2013 investigating bodies of the Russia’s investigative Committee in Kirov Region received an allegation from head of an enterprise in the town of Vyatskie Polyany that he had been extorted a bribe of 18 million rubles by chairman of Vyatskie Polyany district court of Kirov Region Sergey Kashin for the decision over a civil action for benefit of the applicant.

Investigators of the regional Investigative Committee immediately organized a check into the fact under article 144 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code as into containing signs of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (extortion of a bribe). They ordered the office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Kirov Region to conduct search and investigating operations to check the allegation.

On 4 June 2013, during the operation officers of FSB documented the fact that Kashin received a part of a bribe of 3 million rubles in his office.

At present the check is carried on.

At the moment investigators are preparing a statement to be submitted in the court of Kirov Region to receive a permit to open a criminal proceeding.
