Investigators going to ask court to arrest all suspects in assault on Prirazlomnaya

In the criminal case started over the assault on the Prirazlomnaya oil rig, the investigators of the Northwestern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have questioned all 30 detainees as suspects. The questionings were conducted in strict compliance with the norms of Russian Penal Procedure Code. All the detainees have the right on professional and well-qualified defense and foreign citizens are provided with interpreters. During the questionings all the suspects refused to testify referring to article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

Today the investigators are going to request the Leninsky district court of Murmansk to place all 30 suspects in custody.

Representatives of foreign consulates, who had expressed their wish to get in contact with the citizens of their countries, were allowed to see them yesterday. The diplomats were satisfied with the prison conditions and remained convinced that the suspects' rights are being rigorously observed.
