Investigative Committee Chairman holds operational meeting in Dagestan

On 26 September 2013, Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin held an operational meeting in the Republic of Dagestan. The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman of the investigative Committee, head of the main Investigations Directorate in the North Caucasus Federal District, senior officials of the Investigations Directorate in the Republic of Dagestan, Ministry of Interior and Federal Security Service in Dagestan.

The meeting heard the report on the progress of investigation started into encroachment on the life of the Dagestani Supreme Court judge Mukhtar Shapiyev and murder of his son Kamil Shapiyev committed on 25 September in the city of Makhachkala. In addition the meeting heard criminal investigations related to the terrorist attack near the building of Tabasaransky district police station, murders of journalists Malik Akhmedilov and Gadzhimurad kamalov and other resonating cases.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Bastrykin gave a number of specific orders on the direction of investigations, start and speeding up of the search for the persons involved in the crimes.
