In Moscow CEO and deputy of Central research institute of economics, information science and control systems suspected of stealing 500 million rubles

Moscow Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case against former CEO of federal state unitary enterprise the Central research institute of economics, information science and control systems, subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrey Beltov and his deputy Dmitry Ostrovsky. They are suspected of the crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (swindling committed by an organized group on an especially large scale).

The investigators have found that during two months in 2013 Beltov and Ostrovsky acting together with other members of a criminal group, by forging documents during execution of a state contract on development work in developing communication systems at flight and lifting means stole over 500 million rubles transferring the money to the accounts of the affiliated legal persons, including in the United States of America.

During the probe the investigators have seized the documents confirming their criminal activity and found more than 20 million rubles.

On the request of the investigators, the court has ruled to place Beltov and Ostrovsky in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
