The Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Volgograd Region in close cooperation with operational services of local offices of the Federal Security Service and Interior Ministry continue investigating the criminal case over the terrorist attack in bus No 29 “Cardiocenter - Yubileyny”, which killed 6 people.

As a result of well-planned operations with participation of the investigators and criminologists of the Central Office of the Russia’s investigative Committee a tremendous amount of work has been done in a very short time. More than 90 witnesses and eyewitnesses of the terrorist attack have been questioned, 43 people have been recognized victims, a necessary number of medical, DNA, bomb technical analyses have been assigned. Asiyalova’s identity has been confirmed by both identification by her mother and sister and results of the DNA test.

In addition, the investigators have found Asiyalova’s connections and close relatives in the Republic of Dagestan and in Moscow and confirmed her relationships with Dmitry Sokolov, an assumed member of a gang.

The investigators have restored each minute of Asiyalova’s trip in Volgograd. namely, in the period between 11:59 AM and 12:50 PM, October 21, 2013, she was near Samarsky Razyezd in Dzerzhinsly district. There she dropped in Auchan supermarket, then she hailed a car and at 1:16 PM she arrived to the Akvarel shopping mall in Sovetsky district. She was there until 1:26 PM, and then, seeing that there were not many shoppers inside, at 1:31 got on a bus No 29 at Universitetsky Prospekt travelling to Krasnoarmeyski district.

As a result of the analyses of the materials the investigators have, it has been found that During her time in Volgograd Asiyalov had no contacts. This is confirmed by the examination of cars and buses, which have found particles of explosives both in the bus Asiyalova took from Makhachkala and in the car she hailed to get to the Akvarel shopping mall. This way it is clear that Asiyalova carried the bomb herself from Dagestan, first in the bus from Makhachkala to Moscow and then while moving around Volgograd in the car. The video from the CCTV cameras which caught Asiyalova have also been studied. The video confirms that Asiyalov acted alone.

According to preliminary conclusions of specialists the power of the explosion was about 500-600 grams of TNT and the bomb was stuffed with metallic objects. The test results will find the kind and exact power of the bomb. It might happen that such explosives have already been used in other crimes. These data will also help to find all the circumstances of the crime.

At present the investigating group carries on operations to identify organizers of the crime and Asiyalova’s accomplices in Dagestan.
