Former first deputy governor of Kurgan Region found guilty of bribery

Court has found the evidence gathered by the Urals Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee enough to convict first deputy governor of Kurgan Region Alexander Bukhtoyarov. He was found guilty of the crime under paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (receiving a bribe by an official on a massive scale).

The court and investigators have found that Alexander Bukhtoyarov serving as first deputy governor of Kurgan Region received from the CEO of a company based in Tyumen a bribe of a snow mobile Arctic Cat Bearcat Widetrack worth over 300 thousand rubles for assisting by virtue of his official position in providing for use to this company forest for hunting located in Vargashinsky district in Kurgan Region.

The court sentenced Bukhtoyarov to a fine of 21 million 400 thousand rubles and banned him from occupying leading positions in local governments for the next 3 years.
