In Nizhny Novgorod Pavel Brovkin convicted for killing doctor

A court and investigators have found that on 3 February 2013, in the afternoon, Brobkin and the victim, a doctor with a specialized heart surgery clinical hospital, had a conflict at the parking lot of the Khabarovskoye sport center in Bogorodsky district, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The conflict started because Brovking had parked his car at a traffic way between the rows of parked cars and hindered the traffic. The victim slowly started going round his car and the car brushed against the wife of the accused, when she had got out the car. The woman was not injured or hurt. Brovkin caught up and them blocked the doctor’s car and started a row. During the conflict he shot at him, then hit him several time with a traumatic gun and then shot at his head point-blank , which became the cause of the death.

During the investigation Brovkin did not admit his guilt claiming that he had fired unintentionally. However, the evidence and particularly statements of witnesses and the fact that he shot twice disprove his claims. In addition, the results of forensic medical expert examination confirmed that there were four kinds of drugs in Brovkin’s blood. He does not suffer from the diseases requiring intake of such medicines. In 2009 the accused was put on trial for violating service rules regulating relationships between soldiers.

The court has sentenced Brovkin to 11 years in prison and 1 year of restraint of liberty.
