A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Ural Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict leader of a gang, who committed serious and especially serious crimes in the Kurgan Region Dmitry Pryamonosov. He was found guilty of 22 counts of crimes under part 1 of article 209 of the RF Penal Code (banditry), paragraphs “a”, “g”, “h”, “i” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 (aggravated killing), paragraph “a” of part 3, paragraph “a” of part 4 of article 162 (robbery), paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 161 (robbery), paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 111 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) and part 3 of article 222 (illegal purchase, storage, transportation, carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices).
The court and investigators have found that in February 1996 Pryamonosov together with an acquaintance of his set up the gang to commit serious and especially serious crimes in the Kurgan Region, which in the period between 1997 and 2002 included over 10 members. In April 1998 Pryamonosov together with other gang members were preparing to kill the former CEO of Shadrinsk brewery, which failed as they were detained by law enforcement agents. Having served the sentence and released from prison, in March 2001 Pryamonosov participated in killing the next CEO of the same brewery, his wife and chauffeur, gunning them down on a motorway Yekaterinburg – Kurgan. In addition, Pryamonosov as a gang member committed murders, attacks, robberies and other crimes in the town of Shadrinsk. This way in November 2003 he together with other gang members openly stole a BMW car from a resident of the Chelyabinsk Region, which he then used for robbery. In October 2003 in the woods near the motorway Yekaterinburg – Kurgan Pryamonosov killed a resident of Shadrinsk, whose dead body he then buried in the woods. In May 2004 together with other gang members he attacked a man to steal his car. They took the man in his car to the woods and killed him. The car was later used while killing another resident of the Kurgan Region, who had a conflict with the leader of the gang. With the accomplice of other members of the gang by setting of an improvised explosive device made by another gang member Pryamonosov attempted to kill a resident of the town. He committed other crimes as well.
The court sentenced Pryamonosov to 21 years in a maximum-security penal colony.
Earlier three gang members had been sentenced to long time in prison and a case against another is being tried at the moment. Two more gang members are wanted.
