Alexander Bastrykin holds personal reception of citizens in Moscow

Alexander Bastrykin held a personal reception of citizens in Moscow on 14 May 2014. The Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee received 27 people, including 3 deputies of the State Duma, a journalist, residents of Kursk, Belgorod, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Orenburg, Lipetsk, Ulyanovsk and Tambov regions, the city of Moscow, republics of Tatarstan and Mari-El, Krasnodar Territory.

The deputies of the State Duma were disagreeing with the decision of officials of the Federal Customs Service and cooperation with youth organizations. The journalist produced information on deaths of elderly people, who had passed ownership of their flats to strangers not long before their death. Several criminal cases on similar facts are already being under investigation in Moscow, while Mr. Bastrykin ordered to launch procedural checks in the rest of them.

The most of complaints addressed to Mr. Bastrykin during the personal reception concerned procedural decisions made over criminal cases investigated by investigating bodies in the said regions.

During the reception, which started at 11:00 AM and lasted till 09:00 PM, all citizens were received. Following the personal reception Mr. Bastrykin gave explicit orders to heads of a number of territorial investigating bodies. Progress of reviewing all accepted complaints and applications is under personal control of the Chairman.
