In Moscow accused of attacking deputy Roman Khudyakov put on trial

The Moscow Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has finished investigating a criminal case opened in connection with the attacks on Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Roman Khudyakov. Zakaria Gadzhiyev and Artur Minbulatov are accused of crimes under Part 2 of Article 115 of the RF Criminal Code (intentional infliction of minor bodily harm), Part 2 of Article 162 of the RF Criminal Code (robbery), and Subsection "b" of Part 3 of Article 163 of the RF Criminal Code (extortion).

According to investigators, July 9, 2013, at about 07.30 PM, while driving «Toyota Land Cruiser», Minbulatov made a dangerous maneuver creating an accident with the car of Roman Khudyakov near the house No 26 on the Berezhkovskaya Street in the city of Moscow. The off-roader driver pulled up the Khudiakov’s car to the curb and made it stop. Then the car driver and passenger Gadzhiyev came out and struck multiple blows at the victim’s head. At that moment, when the victim tried to take a shot of the attackers’ car number plate on his cell phone camera, Minbulatov and Gadzhiyev demanded to give them the phone and tried to get into the deputy’s car, threatening him with firearms. Khudyakov managed to escape. Zakaria Gadzhiyev and Artur Minbulatov were arrested July 11, 2013 in Makhachkala. At the request of investigators, the accused were remanded in custody.

In addition, investigators established the involvement of Minbulatov and Gadzhiyev in another crime. The above-mentioned case and the case of extorting 30 million rubles from a businessman and open stealing his mobile phone by the accused in complicity with Shamil Gadzhiyev and Alexander Atapin in March 2013 were filed in a single law suit. Their actions are classified under "b" of Part 3 of Article 163 of the RF Criminal Code (extortion) and Part 2 of Article 162 of the RF Criminal Code (robbery).

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case against Zakaria Gadzhiyev, Artur Minbulatov, Shamil Gadzhiyev and Alexander Atapin with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
