In Krasnoyarsk criminal investigation launched in bus accident hurting passengers

On 22 May 2014, about 10 AM, the driver of bus No 65 saw that the road opposite No 1 in Vavilov street in the district center was flooded with boiling water and the steam was preventing him from seeing the road clearly. When the bus was going up the road, the team and water pressure tore away a lid from a sewer manhole and the hot water gushed into the bus. The bus driver was the first to leave the vehicle, not opening the doors for the passengers in the bus flooded with hot water. The injured were helped by passers-by who saw what had happened. The driver and 8 passengers were taken to hospital, 2 of them are in grave condition.

After establishing the said facts, the Krasnoyarsk Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a criminal investigation into a crime under part 1 of article 264 of the RF Penal Code (violation by a person driving an automobile, tram or any other mechanical transport vehicle of the traffic code or vehicle operation rules entailing grievous bodily harm by negligence).

During the probe investigators are going to classify actions of the officials, who accepted the pipeline in operation in summer 2013.
