Documents confiscated from Spark Avia in Mi-8 crash investigation

The investigating bodies of the Northwestern Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over a Mi-8 helicopter crash in the Murmansk Region as containing signs of a crime under part 3 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules of aircraft traffic entailing death of two or more people by negligence).

By now the investigators have confiscated documents from ZAO Spark Avia, which was the operator of the crashed Mi-8. During the search they seized all the technical documentation the company had concerning the Mi-8 and personal files of the pilots and technicians, who had been aboard. The investigators will carefully analyze all the documents to find the cause of the crash.

By now 14 bodies have been retrieved, 10 of them have been identified.
