A court has recognized the evidence collected by the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Yaroslavl Region sufficient to convict former head of land department in the mayor’s office Boris Burakov. He was found guilty of a crime under paragraphs “a”, “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (bribetaking).

The investigators and court have established that in the period between December and March 2013 Burakov together with deputy mayor of Yaroslavl Yevgeny Rozanov and ex-director of construction management and housing policies department in Yaroslavl mayor’s office Vladimir Yevdokimov got a bribe of 1 million rubles from a local businessman for assisting in prolonging a lease contract on a piece of land, being a property of government, and for arrival to amicable agreement on a case, being in consideration of Yaroslavl Region court of arbitration.

The court has sentenced Burakov to 2 years prison term to be served in a maximum-security penal colony and a 2 million ruble fine.

It should be noted that the investigation of criminal case against Yevdokimov has been finished, and the case against Rozanov is being tried.
