In Chechnya criminal case opened against deputy of rural settlement suspected of swindling with payouts

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Chechen Republic have started a criminal case against a deputy of a rural settlement of Grozny municipal district over sings of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud with payouts).

According to investigators, the suspect in 2011, not being a Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster fighter, turned false information in the administration of Grozny municipal district to be included in the federal program for a discount in buying residence. Based on the documents with false information in May 2013 the suspect received a state housing certificate for buying a residence worth 2 million 970 thousand rubles, under which the Russian Ministry of Construction transferred the money to this account. The deputy spent the said money to buy an estate.

At present the investigators are looking at reasons and conditions contributing to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
