Former officials of Moscow Region Ministry of Economy to stand trial for grand bribe taking

The investigating bodies of Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against former head of department for supporting small and medium-sized business of the Moscow Region Ministry of Economy Alexey Poluyanov and his deputy Yuri Letovaltsev. They were charged with a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (taking a bribe on an especially large scale).

According to investigators, between 19 January 2011 and 14 June 2012, Poluyanov and Letovaltsev assisted legal entities and sole proprietors of Klin District in getting target-specific budgetary funds of the Moscow Region. For that they several times received cash bribes from the former director of the Municipal Foundation for supporting small-size entrepreneurship of Klin District in the form of 5% from the sum of the subsidies equaling in total to over 2 million rubles. On 14 June 2012, Poluyanov and Letovaltsev were caught red-handed while receiving 350 thousand rubles from the same former official.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
