The investigating bodies of the Ural Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against a captain of a Mi-8T helicopter. He is charged with a crime under part 1 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety standards for traffic and operations of air transport that by negligence caused serious damage).
According to investigators, on 3 February 2014, about 12 PM, local time, the captain of Mi-8T operated by OAO Komiaviatrans travelling from Vorkuta - landing site 0 kilometer to landing site Yary - Vorkuta took off from the airport of Vorkuta and fell 200 meters away from landing site 0 kilometer Bovanenkovsky deposit of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. 4 people were injured in the crash, plus OOO Dobrolyot Airlines suffered damage of over 9 million rubles.
The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been forwarded to court to be tried on the merits.
