Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against CEO of OOO Veter Stranstviy (Wind of Travel) travel agency Lyubov Agafonova over a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud on a very large scale).

According to investigators, Agafonov no having any intentions to execute any obligations the agency undertook under agreements concluded with citizens on tourist services, stole the money she had received for them. As a result of Agafonova’s actions, the activity of the travel agency was suspended on 14 August 2014, with its clients suffering damage of over 1 million rubles overall.

At present investigating and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and Agafonova’s whereabouts.

The investigation is ongoing.
