Two suspects of stealing over 28 billion rubles from Mezhprombank detained

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has held two suspects in a case against Sergey Pugachev charged with misappropriation of funds from ZAO International Industrial Bank (Mezhprombank).

Investigators have found out that in 2008-2009, an organized group which included among the others chairman of executive directorate of Mezhprombank Alexander Didienko (at present manager of Krasnaya Presnya office of Sberbank of Russia) and GM of ZAO OPK Development Dmitry Amunts (at present deputy head of the Federal Agency for Tourism) stole from Mezhprombank over 28 billion rubles.

Pugachev is wanted internationally. A court ruled in absentia to put him in custody. The investigators are going to request the court to put Didenko and Amunts in custody. It should be noted however that prosecution of Didenko and Amunts is not connected with their present positions.
