As it was reported earlier, on 7 September 2014 around 8:30 PM, there was a fire in a cottage in the village of Terekhovo in Khimki. After the fire was out dead bodies of the 43-year-old owner of the house and her three children – 3-year-old twins (a boy and a girl) and 12-year old son were found under the debris. The only survivor was cohabiter of the woman’s elder daughter – 22-year-old Dmitry Kolesnikov, who had got out the house when the fire had stated.

Kolesnikov admitted his guilt and repented during a questioning. According to him, at night of 8 September, he had a fight with his cohabiter’s mother related to relationships inside the family. During the fight he decided to kill the woman. First he started to strangle her with his hands and them with a rope. Then he found a bottle with some inflammable liquid, poured it on his blood-stained clothes and set a fire. Then he smashed a window and the flow of air started a fire in the house.

True motives and the method of the crime will be identified during the probe based on impartial data, such as results of tests and statements of witnesses, which will either confirm or disprove the theory put forth by the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
