In Adygea Askhan Chinazirov found guilty of violating highway regulations killing two

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the South Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Askhad Chinazirov. He was found guilty of a crime under part 5 of article 264 of the RF Penal Code (breach of highway regulations by a driver involving death of two people).

The court and investigators have found that at night on 7 May 2012, in one of the streets in the town of Maykop Chinazirov was driving A Toyota Camry when he violated the highway regulation and sped up to 121 km/h excessing two times the speed limit in the town. Chinazirov collided with a VAZ-21061 with a driver and a teenager passenger born in 1995 inside. The VAZ driver and passenger were badly injured and later died.

During the preliminary investigation the investors ran over 20 forensic analyses, including technical ones, which helped to find the speed of the Toyota and the chance to avoid the collision provided that the speed was within the set limits. It was also found that Chinazirov had not tried to slow down until the cars collided.

Chinazirov has received a suspended sentence of 3 years in prison.
