Another former deputy head of Murmansk Region Main Office of Russian Emergencies Ministry arrested on charges of grand misappropriation in investigation against Ministry employees

The Murmansk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating criminal cases against officials of the Murmansk Region Main Office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, who have committed stealing of money on a very large scale.

The investigators have found out that former deputy head of the Murmansk Region main Office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Yuri Kondratyev had been involved in the crime.

According to the investigators, Kondratyev while serving as chief accountant at the Murmansk Region Main Office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, out of mercenary motives set up a criminal group composed of the employees of the Main Office to steal the funds allocated to pay bonuses to employees and led the group for over two years. As a result the Main Office suffered loss over 110 million rubles.

On 3 October 2014, the investigators and officers of the Federal Security Service detained Kondratyev in the city of Saint-Petersburg and then transported to Moscow.

At the request of investigators the court has ruled to put Kondratyev in custody pending the trial.

Earlier former deputies of the head of the Murmansk Region Main Office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Mark Davidenko and Yuri Kondratyev, chief of the 1st team of the Federal Fire Service for the Murmansk Region Andrey Lebedev and his deputy Sergey Artamonov were arrested. Another accused Alexander Stopichev, chief of the 2nd team of the Federal Fire Service for the Murmansk Region was released on recognizance.

At present investigating and search operations are underway to identify other members of the criminal group.
