In Tatarstan criminal investigation launched in safety breach injuring child

On 14 October 2014, in the evening, a 3-year-old boy choked with water and passed out during a swimming lesson with a group of children in a swimming pool at Delfin sport and health center in the town of Naberezhnye Chelny. At present the boy is in medicamental coma and is connected to an artificial lung. The Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation into a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (provision of services not meeting safety standards and rendered to children under 6 years of age).

The investigators are going to take every possible measures to find out all the circumstances of the incident and conditions and causes that contributed to it. The investigators will evaluate actions of all officials who were in charge of the child’s safety.
