In Moscow criminal investigation launched in disappearance of 8-year-old child

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation into disappearance of an 8-year-old boy as a crime under paragraph “e” of part 2 of article 128 of the RF Penal Code (kidnapping).

According to investigators, on 16 October 2014, at around 8 AM, the boy with a friend walked to school located in Verkhnyaya Krasnoselskaya street in Moscow. When the boy came up to school, he was kidnapped by an unidentified woman. Presumably, the woman had worked for the boy’s family as a nanny.

There is an operations center organized to deal with the case. The operation involves operatives of Moscow Main Office of the Russian Ministry of Interior and volunteers. Criminalistics Office of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate is also involved. Active search is underway. Head of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate is controlling the investigation.
