Teams from 12 regions of Russia are taking part in the championship. This is the third judo championship held on the initiative of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in cooperation with Russian Judo Federation.

The first championship was held in 2012 in the town of Noginsk, outside Moscow, the home town of Yevgeny Tabakov, a boy who lost his life trying to protect his sister from a rapist. The second championship was held in the city of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, home republic of another young hero – Danil Sadykov, who died rescuing a child.

Since the day the Investigative Committee was formed, 13 of its officials, who properly performed their duty for the sake of justice, protection of constitutional rights and legal interests of citizens, have been killed by criminals. Ten of them were killed in the line of duty in North Caucasian region. So this is not a coincidence that this year the championship is held in Nevinnomyssk, the town in North Caucasus, the region with rich sporting history, that raised not one generation of Russian athletes, representing our country at highest competitions. The results will be summed up on 19 October 2014 and all the winners will get valuable prizes.
