In Tatarstan mother detained on suspicion of abandoning her child in danger

Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case launched after a child was found abandoned in a house in the city of Kazan (article 125 of the RF Penal Code).

During efficiently planned investigative and search operations investigators have managed to detain the boy’s mother Natalya Manzhola, 26, a resident of Kazan, who was wanted.

Before that the woman had served a prison term in a penal colony. After her release the officials of the facility had got the woman and her small child, who had been born and then taken care of in the daycare facility of the colony, in a train travelling from Gorky to Moscow, on which she arrived in Kazan on 1 January 2015. Manzhola’s sister has also recognized the boy as her sister sent her his photographs from the prison.

At present Manzhola is under arrest under article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code. During the interrogation the woman confessed to the crime and explained that she had abandoned her son because of difficult life situation. The investigators have started procedure to deprive her of custody.
