The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for Tambov Region based on the report of CEO of OOO Laguna have launched a criminal investigation against head of regional office of the Federal Tax Service Lyubov Krugova. She is suspected of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a very large scale).

According to investigators between 2006 and 2013 Krugova occupied executive positions in tax bodies in Tambov Region regularly extorted and received from the CEO of OOO Laguna bribes of cash and property for not taking measures during tax inspections. Over the said period the suspect received from the CEO property worth over 14 million rubles in total.

At the request of the Federal Tax Service and by order of the Minister of Finance it has been decided to carry out a check to find if Lyubov Kruglova violated anti-corruption laws. She was suspended from her office for the period of the check. At present the internal security department of the Federal Tax Service is finishing the check.

The operational support of the investigation is provided by the officers of Tambov Region Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior. The Federal Tax Service is providing all necessary assistance to the investigators.

Investigative operations are underway to consolidate the evidence and find out all the circumstances of the crime.
