In Stavropol Territory five men found guilty of banditry, use of forged document, illegal circulation of firearms and murders of businessmen

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee enough to convict five men. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 209 of the RF Penal Code (banditry), paragraphs “a”, “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder), part 3 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms), part 4 of article 111 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm entailing death by negligence), part 1 of article 30, paragraphs “a”, “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder), part 3 of article 327 (use of a knowingly forged document).

On 3 March 2011, about 8 PM, CEO of OAO Remselmash Yuri Bukreyev drove up to his household and got out of the car. At that moment an unidentified man shot him no fewer than 4 times from a 9mm pistol, stole Bukreyev’s cell phone and fled the scene. A week later Bukreyev died of wounds in resuscitation department of hospital. By now persons involved in Bukreyev’s murder have been identified during investigating and search operations. The murder was ordered by Imali Naduyev, a large businessman, whose firms act in the Stavropol Territory, mostly in Sovetsky, Kirov and Ipatovo Districts. Prior to the murder OAO Remselmash represented by Bukreyev had had a financial dispute with firms affiliated to Naduyev.

In addition, investigators have established that Naduyev had a hand in other especially serious crimes, such as the August 2011 murder of Mukhadin Akberdiyev, CEO of OOO Royana, in Izobilnoye, the January 2012 infliction of grievous bodily harm to Sergey Ivanov, deputy head of Kirov District Bailiffs Office, of which he died in Kirov District Central Hospital, plotting the murder of CEO of OAO Tishchenskoye and others, all of which were ordered by Naduyev. The said crimes were also preceded by financial dispute between the victims and Naduyev, or his companies.

The investigators have established, that to commit the said crimes Naduyev set up a stable armed group (gang), composed of Chechen nationals Urysh Zaurov and his nephew Alibek Zaurov, whom Naduyev had known before, and residents of Novoalexandrovsk District Alexey Makushin and Ivan Anashkin, who were organizers and participants of the said assaults and murders. At the investigators’ motion the Territory Court has ruled to remand the identified gang members in custody pending trial, however Naduyev escaped and left the Russian Federation. According to the information provided by the Interpol bureau, he is now in Canada and extradition is being discussed.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.

Besides, the Stavropol Territory investigating bodies continue investigating a criminal case against Imali Naduyev and a number of his accomplices charged with crimes under part 1 of article 210 of the RF Penal Code (organization of a criminal society) and part 4 of article 159 (fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale) connected with illegal bankruptcy Bolshevik, horse breeding factory, in Ipatovo District.

According to investigators, in the period between 2006 and 2010, in the Stavropol Territory Naduyev set up an organized group composed of Sergey Belykh, Yekaterina Kovtun, Alexander Chepurny, Nikolai Sineokov, Alexander Shmidt and others, who stole by deceit and abuse of trust Bolshevik factory in the form of its chattel and real assets, goods and material valuables, agricultural and other equipment and illegally got the right to use other’s property – an agricultural property 31,339 ha of area from Bolshevik factory as unlimited use and owned by the Russian Federation, causing the state a loss of over 250 million rubles.

The court has sentenced the five men to between 3 and 23 years in prison.
