Body of documentary film maker Tamara Yakzhina found in Moscow Region

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case opened in crimes under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 3 of article 30, part 4 of article 159 (attempted fraud) following disappearance of Tamara Yakzhina, 69.

We remind that no later than on 16 March 2015, Yakzhina left her flat in Gabrichevsky street in Moscow and was unaccounted for until 15 April 2015. The investigators were considering different versions of Yakzhina’s disappearance.

Today due to efficient investigative and search operations carried out in cooperation with police officers the investigators have managed to restore the whole picture of the crime.

According to investigators, on 12 March 2015, one of the detainees met the victim and offered to give a lift. On their way the driver and Yakzhina got a fight and the former killed the film maker. Them the man took the body in Moscow Region and buried. Wanting to hide the traces and deceive investigators, he moved around Moscow several times and turned on the woman’s cell phone to register the address.

Earlier a resident of the town of Korolyov, Moscow Region and two residents of Moscow were detained on suspicion of the crime. All of them were charged and put on custody pending trial.

The investigation is ongoing.
