Following a request filed by Leningrad Region Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee a criminal case over the death of inmates of Anisimovo children’s home in Boksitogorsk District. The case was opened in a crime under part 5 of article 264 of the RF Penal Code (violation of traffic code entailing death of two or more people).

The investigation was commissioned to investigators of the regional department for major cases.

According to investigators, early in the morning of 11 April 2015, the children were traveling in a bus to take part in sports competitions in the town of Kirovsk, Leningrad Region. The bus collided with a truck. Two children and the bus driver were killed in the accident, several more children were taken to hospital with injuries.

During the probe the investigators are going to examine the activity of the officials in detail including those who had organized the transportation of children, and qualify their actions.

At present investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
