In Chelyabinsk Region businessman found guilty of giving bribe to member of Federation Council Konstantin Tsybko

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict businessman Oleg Laknitsky. He was found guilty of a crime under part 5 of article 291 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a very large scale).

The court and investigators have revealed that, Oleg Laknitsky gave member of the Federation Council (representative of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly) Konstantin Tsybko a bribe of 10 million rubles for lobbing his business interests and creating favorable conditions for developing business in Chelyabinsk Region.

The crime was revealed during another investigation against Konstantin Tsybko. Laknitsky concluded a pretrial cooperation deal with investigators so the case against him was severed in a separate proceeding.

The court has fined Laknitsky on 30 million rubles.

The investigation against Tsybko and other persons is ongoing.
