The Major Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigation against member of the Federation Council - representative of Chelyabinsk Region Legislation Assembly Konstantin Tsybko charged with two crimes under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a very large scale).

According to investigators, in 2011, Tsybko received from Yevgeny Tarasov, head of the administration of Ozyorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, at least 17.5 million rubles for assisting in being appointed to the position. In addition, Tsybko is charged with getting a bribe of at least 10 million rubles both personally and via Tarasov from a businessman Oleg Laknitsky in 2012 for lobbing his business interests and creating favorable conditions for developing business in Chelyabinsk Region.

The investigators have done a lot of work, they studied the results of the investigative and search operations, ran phonographic and linguistic inquiries and questioned about 60 witnesses who gave evidence against Tsybko and confirmed their testimony during confrontations with the accused.

In April 2015, Lenin District Court of the town of Magnitogorsk found Latnitsky guilty of giving a bribe on a very large scale to Tsybko. The sentence entered into force in July.

There are enough evidence against Tsybko, so the criminal case has been sent to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation for the indictment to be approved.
