Former deputy governor of Tomsk Region and Head of Pervomayskoye District to stand trial for abuse of office

The Tomsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigation against former deputy governor of Tomsk Region – head of Entrepreneurship and Real Economic Sector Development Department of Tomsk Region Andrey Trubitsyn and head of Pervomayskoye District, Tomsk Region charged with a crime under part 2 of article 286 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of office).

According to investigators, the accused acted by a group in conspiracy and from 2009 to March 2012 committed actions that were obviously outside their authority which led to the fact that 20,193 cubic meters of forest located in the forestry of the Russian Federation was withdrawn from the federal ownership. Their actions caused the state pecuniary damage of over 66 million rubles and the right to use the said forest was limited because it was cut down.

The accused were released on recognizance. Following a request of investigators, a court arrested their property – a house, a three-room flat, a garage, two cars and three land properties. There are 20 volumes of criminal records.

The investigation has been finished and the case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
