Probe launched against three police officers in Moscow

The investigating bodies of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case against three operative officers of the crime detection department of the Moscow Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior Dmitry Alfyorov, Stanislav Maksimov and Maxim Korostelyov over crimes under part 1 of article 286 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of office), article 303 (forgery of evidence in a criminal investigation).

According to investigators, the operative officers searched the flat of a suspect of a robbery and stealing a watch worth about 5 million rubles without a warrant and in absence of the person, whose flat was searched. Then, one of the officers put the watch, he got in unclear circumstances, in one of the rooms in the flat. On the same day, searching the flat following the order of the investigator and in presence of the suspect, they seized the watch and made a protocol which was then used as the evidence against the suspect.

At present, the offices of the suspects have been searched, interviews and other investigative operations are underway. Restraint is expected soon.
