Alexander Bastrykin to ask Prosecutor General to pass on case over attack on elderly woman in Pyatyorochka supermarket to Investigative Committee

Today Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held a working meeting in Samara Region. Along with other current issues, the Chairman asked about execution of his order to ask the prosecutor’s office to pass on the case over the attack on an elderly woman in Pyatyorochka supermarket in the town of Syzran to the Investigative Committee for inquiry.

As the decision not to give the case over to the Investigative Committee, but let the police deal with it was taken by the Prosecutor General’s Office, Mr. Bastrykin is going to ask the Office to reconsider it. This is due to the fact that investigators of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have to find out not only all the circumstances of the crime, but to check if the police officers who opened the investigation only after the case was widely known, did their job in time and to the fullest extent.
