Investigative Committee Chairman sends investigators and criminalists of Central Office in Tver Region to assist with investigation in murder of legislative assembly deputy

On 23 September 2015, a dead body of a deputy of Tver Region legislative assembly with a gunshot wound in the chest was found on the outskirts of the village of Spas, Torzhok District, Tver Region. The Tver Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in crimes under part 1 of article 105 and part 1 of article 222 of the RF penal Code (murder, illegal circulation of firearms).

Following an order of the Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee investigators and criminalists of the Central Office have set out to assist with the investigation.

Investigators of the Tver Region Investigations Directorate are working at the crime scene. The scene is being examined using modern criminalistics equipment.

At present operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and motives. The investigators are checking the version of a murder connected with the deputy’s professional activity. Investigative and search operations are underway to find and hold the suspect.
