Judge of commercial court found guilty of bribery in Krasnodar Territory

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee based in the city of Rostov-on-Don sufficient to convict judge of a commercial court of Krasnodar Territory Sergey Rusov. He was found guilty of a crime under part 6 of article 290 0 the RF Penal Code (bribery).

The court and investigators have revealed that Rusov while being the judge of the commercial court of Krasnodar Territory was considering the action of Sochi administration on recovery of penalty from MSP Rossban construction company. In December 2012, he demanded and received from a representative of the construction company a part of a bribe of 1 million rubles, and after that, in January 2013, he received the rest of the bribe of 19 million rubles. He took the bribe to make a judicial decision for Rosban. The judge’s wrongdoings were broken up by the officials of the Federal Security Service.

The court sentenced Rusov to 10 years in a maximum-security penal colony and a fire of 200 million rubles. He was also banned from taking any jobs in judicial system of Russia for 2 years.
