Accused of schoolgirl murder arrested in Bashkortostan

The Bashkortostan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigation against a 35-year-old resident of the city of Ufa accused of killing an 11-year0old schoolgirl and her sexual abuse (paragraphs “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 and paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 132 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, in the morning of 21 September 2015, the 35-year-old resident of Ufa walked down Krasnodonskaya street in Ufa and attacked an 11-year-old girl, who was walking to school. He covered her mouth and nose with his hand, dragged her to the opening between two metallic garages, where he sexually abused her. Fearing of being caught, he strangled the girl.

Following a request of investigators, a court has ruled to remand the 35-year-old man in custody pending trial. The arrested admitted his guilt. At present, investigative operations are underway to consolidate the evidence. The investigators are going to check if the accused was involved in other sex crimes. The investigation is ongoing.
