Investigators take measures to compensate for damage done by criminal activity of community led by head of Komi Republic

The Major Investigations Directorate of the Russian’s Investigative Committee continues investigation against Head of the Republic of Komi Vyacheslav Gayzer and his deputy Alexey Chernov and other members of the criminal community (article 210, 159 and 174.1 of the RF Penal Code).

The have revealed a number of schemes used by the criminal community. This way, leaders and members of the group used OAO Foundation for Support of Investment Projects of the Republic of Komi gained control over 23 most paying concerns with state shares. Later they used controlled legal entities to take the state assets to offshore.

The investigators have counted the damage done to the Republic of Komi. As of today it stands at about 1.1 billion rubles. To reimburse the damage, the investigators have arrested a number of bank accounts and confiscated about 500 million rubles from the accused. They seized 400 thousand US dollars from a bank cell of one of the accused.

The investigators continue revealing circumstances and other crimes committed by the criminal community.
