Head of Komi and his deputy charged, 15 defendants arrested

The Major Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has charged Head of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Gayzer and his deputy Alexey Chernov with organization of a criminal community and fraud (articles 210 and 159 of the F Penal Code).

Following a request of investigators the two accused and 13 suspects including president of the State Council of the Komi Republic Igor Rovzel, Vice-Chairman of the Komi Government Konstantin Romadanov, ex-senator of the Komi Republic Yevgheny Samoylov, so-called financial technologists V. Molyarov, D. Moskvin, A. Goldman, V. Veselov, as weel as I. Kudinov, P. Marushchak, A. Faershtein, L. Libinzon, N. Motorina, M. Khruzin.

During the prove, the investigators together with operative officers of the Federal Security Service have served over 80 search warrants in the Komi Republic, Saint-Petersburg and Moscow. They seized from the residences and offices of the defendants over 60 kg of jewelry, 150 watches worth between 30 thousand and 1 million US dollars, over 50 stamps of legal entities involved in offshore schemes, financial documents laundering over 1 billion rubles.

At present, urgent investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the crimes and apprehend all the individuals involved in the criminal community.
