Suspect of reckless homicide of three school boys arrested in Kamchatka Territory

The Kamchatka Territory authorities of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigation in a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide of three or more people). The investigation was opened after dead bodies of three 8-year-old boys with large thermal burns were found in the evening of 28 January 2016 at the heating main chamber filled with hot water and located in Pogranichnaya street in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

According to investigators, in the afternoon of 28 January 2016, on their way back home from school the boys were passing a heating main, fell into the heat chamber filled with 2.5 meters of hot water and died. During the probe, the investigators have revealed that the heating main chamber belonged to the branch of PAO Kamchatenergo – Kamchatka Heat and Power Plants. The 47-year-old head of the first section of heat networks of the branch of PAO Kamchatenergo – Kamchatka Heat and Power Plants was responsible for keeping the heat networks in working condition. He has been held on suspicion of the said crime and custodial restraint is expected.

At present, a number of investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
