The Sverdlovsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee is investigating three cases joined in a single proceeding over a crime under Part 2, item “g” of the Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder committed by a group of people).

The investigation has revealed that three residents of Alapayevsk District – a 63-year-old woman and two men aged 57 and 41 were killed in the period between December 2015 and January 2016.

Three suspects, residents of the settlement of Neivo-Shaitansky, Alapayevsk District – two men aged 26 and 27 and their 40-year-old female accomplice have been identified and apprehended during a set of investigative and search operations conducted by the officials of the regional office of the Investigative Committee and the police crime detection unit. The suspects have already confessed to the murders. They have been arrested following the request of the investigators. The investigators are going to press murder charges.

At present the investigators and police officers continue processing the evidence and establishing all the details of the crimes. They are questioning the witnesses and have assigned a number of necessary forensic inquiries (including medical, forensic and DNA tests). The investigators are going to determine the role of each one of the suspects in the crimes and qualify their actions depending on certain criminal actions each of the suspects committed. The investigators are checking several versions of the motives.
