The Penza Region authorities of the Investigative Committee have initiated criminal proceedings into a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (provision of services that do not meet the safety standards) after a traffic accident involving a passenger minibus happened on the M5 Ural route in Bessonovka District, Penza Region.

According to investigators, on 2 march 2016, the accident happened in the afternoon of 2 march 2016 and involved a Mercedes minibus and a MAN truck.

According to preliminary information, 9 people were killed and 3 more were injured in the accident. All the victims were passengers of the minibus.

Now the investigators are looking into the causes and circumstances that contributed to the subquality services. The investigators together with police officers have examined the scene. They are going to give legal evaluation to actions and omission of people in charge of safety of transportation services. The investigation is ongoing.
