In Krasnoyarsk Territory, probe launched in collapse of highway bridge in Minusinsk that injured four

The Krasnoyarsk Territory Directorate of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation in a crime under Part 1 of Article 216 of the RF Penal Code (safety breach during construction or other kind of work) after a collapse of a highway bridge in the town of Minusinsk that injured four people.

According to investigators, one opening of a highway bridge over the M54 federal route collapsed this afternoon. The bridge was closed for traffic because of ongoing capital repairs. The repairs were conducted by Stroymaster, a contractor company. At the moment of the collapse there were a crane and a KAMAZ truck on the bridge. 6 people got hurt in the collapse: a crane operator, a truck driver and 4 workers. All of them were taken to the Minusinsk District Hospital, one of the injured is in extremely grave condition in the I.C.U.

At present, the investigators are working at the scene looking into all the details of the tragedy. They are taking steps to confiscate the documents on the repairs, questioning eyewitnesses. The investigation is ongoing.
