The Saratov Region Office of the RF Investigative Committee has finished the investigation against a 45-year-old man, charged with crimes under Part 2, items “e” and “f” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder committed by a generally dangerous way and with special cruelty), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a”, “e”, “f” and “j” of Article 105 (attempted murder of two committed by a generally dangerous way with special cruelty with purpose to facilitate another crime).
According to investigators, on the evening of 30 November 2015, a 45-year-old father of one of the trainees who had a conflict with her coach entered the gymnasium and opened fire from a PM gun which he had illegally bought and kept, and then fled the scene. The coach was killed on the spot. Besides, the man wounded two victim’s relatives. The two men survived thanks to timely rendered medical aid. During the investigation the accused voluntarily gave up another gun he possessed illegally – a hand-made revolver and 46 9mm cartridges. The case into a crime under Part 1 of Article 222 of the RF Penal Code (illegal purchase, storage and selling of firearms and ammunition) committed by an unidentified person has been severed to form a separate lawsuit and sent to police for further investigation.
The investigators have done a lot of work, including over 100 interviews of witnesses, at least 20 examinations of objects and crime scenes, over 15 forensic inquiries.
The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been referred to court.
