The Crimea Republic investigative bodies of the Russia's Investigative Committee launched a criminal case over crime under part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (providing services not meeting safety standards entailing the death of more than two people). The investigation will be carried out by investigators of Major Investigations Directorate of the Crimea Republic Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia's Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, on August 11, 2016 about 17:20 the driver of scheduled "BAZ "Etalon" bus on Sudak - Kerch route allowed the bus to fall in a 50 meters deep steep. According to preliminary information, after the accident 4 people died immediately, a child among them, 2 more passangers died in hospitals. Other injured were hospitalized in a critical condition, some of them are in coma. According to trip sheet, there were 19 passengers in the bus.

At the moment reasons and conditions which allowed this crime to happen, as well as people who had not provided for life safety and health of bus passengers are being established.  All circumstances of the accident are being investigated.

The investigation is ongoing.
