In Moscow, preliminary check launched into media reports on causing harm to patients of ophthalmological clinic

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated a preliminary check following a media report on grievous bodily harm caused to patients.

According to the mass media, patients of an ophthalmological clinic in Moscow went blind while being treated there. The report implies that the cause of blindness might have been caused by injections of sub-quality medicine.

During the check investigators are going to question the staff of the said clinic, including employees responsible for purchasing and storing medicines. They are going to identify all patients that could have been hurt. Necessary forensic inquiries have been assigned to find out the damage and chemical composition of the medicine.
