Alexander Bastrykin holds briefing with representatives of Investigative Committee’s military offices on preparations to military service

Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin held a briefing on 28 October 2016, to discuss preparedness of the Investigative Committee’s military offices to organize military service since 1 January 2017. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Committee’s Central office and military offices.

In his speech Mr. Batrykin reminded that in accordance with the Federal Law of 4 June 2014 No 145-FZ “On amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation related to military service in the bodies of the military prosecutor’s office and military divisions of the RF Investigative Committee”, the Investigative Committee introduces military services since 1 January next year. The number of military personnel of the Investigative Committee is excluded from the RF Armed Forces, other kinds of troops or authorities and included into the staff number of the Investigative Committee.

Vice-Chairman of the Investigative Committee – Head of the Military Directorate Alexander Sorochkin reported to Mr. Bastrykin on the progress of preparing the military service.

The officials discussed resource and equipment needed to for the transition of military investigators to the Investigative Committee, procedure for signing contracts on military service, conditions for handing over buildings, movable and immovable property occupied by military investigators, system of supplying them with housing, transport, communication means, wages and accomplishing other tasks necessary to ensure that investigators can do their job uninterrupted.

Mr. Bastrykin pointed out that despite the difficulties that had to be faced while taking the planned steps all material and social guaranties the officers and civilian employees of military offices have should be provided in full and in due time.
